these are animals made out of cans; cans+animals=canimals (i thank you) i'm currently looking at superstitions, particularly those related to animals. So far i've made two peacocks but i'm planning on making more pieces. I've used pop cans because they're cheap, I have plenty of them and the aluminium is really easy to work with.
This was one of the first projects we had to produce at uni. We were asked to take 6-10 photographs that illustrated trace. I chose to show the trace of a movement by asking Rob (cheers m'dear) to cover himself in blue LED fairy lights and then move around basically while I took some shots using a slow shutter speed. My favourite shots are the ones that look like wings! I also thought about marks made by other people as a form of trace which is why I included the shots of the bloody eye which were the result of a bit of a scrap after someone's Christmas work do (oh ohhh)
These are un-edited photographs that I took at Turbulence, a club night in Newcastle. I took my camera along just to take photos of my friends, but I was sober enough for once to take some pretty striking shots. The vibrant colours of the lighting and the smokey atmosphere produced some really interesting silhouettes. i'll edit them as soon as I get photoshop sorted...
I'm in my first year at Northumbria University studying a degree in Fine Art. I specialise in Sculpture but i like to practice other disciplines, as my interests are varied. This blog will follow my progress and will feature current work, recent work or any other doodles i think deserve a mention =)
